The Ultimate Expression of Maranello

.V12 Passion. Formula One Technology. Rarity Without Compromise.

LaFerrari marked a defining moment in Ferrari history: the arrival of its first production hybrid hypercar. Unveiled in 2013, it united the emotional character of a naturally aspirated V12 with Formula One-inspired electric technology, creating a machine that was both a technological statement and a worthy successor to the legendary F40, F50 and Enzo.

Designed by Ferrari’s Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni, LaFerrari is instantly recognisable for its low, sculptural bodywork, dramatic proportions and purposeful aerodynamic detailing. Its design is not merely theatrical; every surface contributes to airflow management, cooling and high-speed stability.

Design & Construction — Form Meets Function

Beneath its dramatic exterior lies a lightweight carbon-fibre monocoque, developed with a focus on structural rigidity and reduced mass. Active aerodynamic elements at the front and rear adapt to driving conditions, helping balance downforce and drag.

The cockpit is inspired by Formula One, with a driver-focused layout, sculpted seating and controls designed to keep the driver closely connected to the car. The result is a hypercar in which advanced technology serves an unmistakably Ferrari driving experience.

Engine & Performance — The Power of HY-KERS

At its heart is a 6,262 cc naturally aspirated V12, paired with Ferrari’s HY-KERS hybrid system. The electric motor delivers additional power and immediate torque, enhancing acceleration while drawing on technology developed through Ferrari’s Formula One experience.

Key specifications

  • Engine: 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12
  • V12 output: 800 cv
  • Electric motor output: 120 kW (approximately 163 cv)
  • Combined power: 963 cv (approximately 950 bhp)
  • Transmission: Seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox
  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive
  • 0–100 km/h: Under 3 seconds
  • Maximum speed: More than 350 km/h (217 mph)

The V12 revs to approximately 9,250 rpm, delivering a thrilling, high-revving soundtrack. The hybrid system supplements this character with powerful, immediate acceleration, making LaFerrari one of the defining performance cars of its generation.

Exclusivity & Collectability

Production of the LaFerrari coupé was limited to 499 examples worldwide, each allocated to selected Ferrari clients. Its rarity, pioneering hybrid technology and position in Ferrari’s flagship lineage have established it as a highly desirable modern collector car.

The open-top LaFerrari Aperta is rarer still, with 210 examples announced for production. Its scarcity and distinctive specification place it in a separate collector category from the coupé.

We discreetly source and place vehicles of this calibre for private clients.

Auction Prices & Investment Perspective

Recent auction results demonstrate the strength of demand for exceptional examples:

  • 2015 LaFerrari coupé — Paris, February 2025: Sold by RM Sotheby’s for €3,548,750.
  • 2015 LaFerrari coupé — Arizona, January 2026: Sold by RM Sotheby’s for US$5,477,500.
  • 2015 LaFerrari coupé — Miami, 2026: Sold by RM Sotheby’s for US$6,880,000, a particularly strong result for a one-owner car showing just 554 miles at cataloguing.

These are individual auction results, not a guaranteed market range. Differences in mileage, originality, specification, provenance, market location and sale conditions can produce substantial price variations.

Investment Perspective

From an investment perspective, LaFerrari benefits from limited production, historic significance and its place among the landmark hybrid hypercars. Nevertheless, acquisition costs, servicing, insurance, market volatility and limited liquidity should be carefully considered. Long-term appreciation is possible, but never assured.

A Modern Ferrari Legend

LaFerrari is more than a supercar: it represents the moment Ferrari brought electrification into its flagship road-car philosophy without sacrificing the drama of a naturally aspirated V12.

Its combination of design, performance, rarity and motorsport-derived technology secures its place among the most significant Ferraris of the modern era.
